‘Crochet‘ derives from the French word for ‘hook’ and it is the art of creating a textured fabric from yarn, thread or other materials with a hooked needle.
‘Amigurumi‘ comes from the Japanese terms ‘ami’ (to crochet or to knit) and ‘nuigurumi’ (stuffed doll). It is therefore the process of knitting a stuffed doll.
